'The Story Telling Tree' was a concept by Louisa from a brief to develop a sculptural feature for the Courtyard at Queensmead Community Primary School . The brief was part of an initiative by Creative Braunstone to help Early Years providers to place creativity at the heart of the child's learning. The 'Story Telling Tree' will provide a magical location for Early Years pupils to engage with creative play and a permanent feature that can be decorated in different ways on a daily basis. This idea stems from Louisa's own interest in nature and story telling and will ultimately include a bench for children to congregate on underneath the tree canopy.
The final sculpture was financed by a Broadening Horizons Grant awarded from Braunstone Community Association and was made and installed by Leicester based company 'Overwrought'.
