Born in Nairobi and raised in London, Arlene Wandera’s practice derives from a bi-cultural perspective.
She is inspired by everyday life and executes her ideas through the use of eclectic media usually determined by "flirting" with a range of processes and materials until a "chemistry" is established.
Once established, this "chemistry" forms the basis for either a long or short term working relationship resulting in either a sculpture, photograph, print, installation, live art performance or workshop.
