Carmen Aleman is a visual artist. Her main media are photography, video and installation. She completed a BA & MA in Photography. Carmen has worked in different sectors of photography (commercial, education and visual art). At present, she divides her time working as a photography lecturer at University of East London and London College of Fashion, as well as on her own personal projects.
Her work ranges from photography to video-art and installation, naturally progressing from the studio into the community and public arena. Carmen is particularly interested in women issues, involving community art projects with women and for women, development and education. She has organized photography workshops for women survivors of domestic violence. She has also created, organized and curated a community street-art project in Brixton called Create Peace.

Carmen has exhibited her work a number of times in the past in both U.K. and Spain.
